Hello everyone,

In the AADSAS portal, we are allowed to only submit 4 reference letters. Some of the schools indicate 3 science references and 1 additional, and others require only 2 sciences and 1 additional. I want to submit 1 from a volunteer organization, 1 from a dentist, and 2 from a science professor for some schools, but we are allowed to only submit 4 references, leaving me with no choice but to upload 3 references from a science and 1 from a dentist.

How do I resolve this issue? I want schools to also have the volunteer reference. I don't have the option of selecting references to individual schools, all schools I picked will be receiving the letters. Some schools, I'd like to give both dentist and volunteer, and the science letters.

How can I send the volunteer letter? Is it a good idea to have the volunteer organization send the schools the letter separately? Help.

You go with the more stringent requirements in AADSAS letters. There's not much you can do with the extra letter until you interview; then you can ask if it would be fine to send that last volunteer supervisor letter in separately. No guarantee they'll take it.

I also completed courses on Coursera: Intro to Dentistry etc. any dental related courses - how can I add this to the AADSAS?

I don't know if you can add it into the transcript entry. This is the UPenn non-credit course, right?
Yes. It is UPenn Non-Credit course. I did see other students asked this question a year ago. I took this course per other students suggestion to gain knowledge on dentistry.

If you think it will benefit my application, I can add it as extracurricular or academic enrichment? I did list it on my resume, but not sure if I should add it as an extracurricular thing that I have done. Any thoughts?

So I don't think you can add courses from Coursera or LinkedIn into AADSAS, even if they are hosted by accredited universities. Check the AADSAS help desk, but the Intro to Dentistry course has been around for a while, and I don't recall anyone listing it in transcript entry.

I think the course has a similar value as virtual shadowing a dentist. That is to say, not a ton.

Perfect! I won't list it then. Thanks for the information. 🙂
