hey-

i have a learning disability disorder (where ADA have also confirmed it) but i was wondering if it would make a big difference to students who have this disadvantage problem to get in. does this help make up for my dat scores and gpa?

dat scores - 17AA/17sci
gpa - 3.2 overall, 3.0 bcp

i dont know if i should tell them.. but its the truth. what u all think?

Damn, if those are your stats WITH a learning disability...then sign me up...matter of fact, sign up, about 40% of DS applicants on this learning-disability train

Even with a learning disability, your below average stats are going to make it very difficult for you to get in anywhere. If you think about it from the school's perspective, if you can't hack the grades and test scores in undergrad, then you are REALLY going to struggle in dental school. What is their incentive? Even with your learning disability, it is very possible to raise your DAT score with the proper amount of study and motivation. Retake it, do better.

Although I'm not an expert on this, I would think that this is probably correct. The school is looking for people that they have confidence will be able to succeed. If undergrad was difficult for a person (regardless of if that person was a slacker, didn't have the cognitive abilities, or had a learning disorder), dental school is going to be 10 times worse. I think a school would look favorably on a person with average stats and a learning disorder (the individual was able to accomplish a lot in spite of their disability) as opposed to overlooking low stats because of a learning disorder.
