I am about to submit my primary and have taken the old version of the MCAT. I am not thrilled with my score and am studying for the new test to take in July but unless I feel that I can definitely score better I will cancel my test date and stick with my current score.

Since I am so undecided about whether I am going to actually retake and want the benefit of applying early in the cycle my plan was to apply to schools that I am competitive for now and add more schools later if by some chance I do better on the new test. I will then update the schools I have already applied to as well.

The issue is, I don't want the schools I am currently applying to to wait for me to take the new test because if I don't wind up taking it they will be looking at my app later in the cycle for no good reason. I am planning to NOT disclose that I am signed up for another MCAT to these schools. Is this okay to do? If I am technically signed up, will that info be reported to schools if I don't personally disclose it?

If I am forced to disclose that I am signed up I will most likely cancel my registration and then sign up again once my primary is submitted.

July is not late for schools to consider you if you decide to cancel your exam. It's certainly not worth breaking AAMC rules over or appearing sketchy or dishonest to schools. Out of curiosity, what score are you retaking?
