I know most pre-meds have higher overall gpas than science gpa, but I'm wondering at what point does the difference raise some eyebrows by admission boards. I am wondering if someone with like a 3.8 overall has a 3.6 science gpa, if that will raise some questions since its a 0.2 difference. Also would you say that science is more important than overall gpa? Do you think med schools would recognize if you did poorly in 1 class (damn genetics) which completely brought down your overall/science gpa but you showed consistency in the other science classes.
Thanks for any help.

i dont think you should worry about it too much. a discrepency of .2 isn't alot. and if you have a 3.8 cumulative, you are stressing out for no reason.

i have around a 0.3 difference and it hasnt stopped me from getting accepted.

I have a 3.8 science and a 3.55 nonscience-- dont know yet how its going to ultimately effect me but Ill let you know. I have quite a few interviews, and I actually think that one of my teachers getting in my recs a little late has hurt me more than the GPA.
