in my short career as a PP anesthesiologist i have quickly realized that nearly EVERYONE in this field is disgustingly and unscrupulously greedy. some are just more willing to cross legal boundaries to get rich.

Agree there is greed within our profession but there is a difference between harming patients for $$ and helping patients for $$. 120 patients/day? 17,000 scrips in 2 years?

I know of some lucrative groups that have FIRED partners because they became greedy.
I know of groups that emphesize fairness and weed out those who abuse the system.

I also know there are plenty of people on the flip side of that coin.

I think there are way more greedy bastards than honest people in our business unfortunately!

I have heard that some of these types of clinics in prominent locations are owned by silent partner big whigs who prey on doctors who are struggling. They lure them in under false pretenses, get them to do some shady things, and then treat them as puppets with the threat of turning them in unless they fully cooperate with something they know is wrong. I'm not saying the doc is not at fault, I am just saying that there may be more to the story than what is right in front of us. There needs to be a true investigation to follow the real money trail. Who owns the clinics where these types of docs work?
I like to think that we all went into medicine to help others. Some of these poor saps took a wrong turn somewhere and got sucked into bad situations that they could not get out of. It would be nice to see an expose of who the money people are behind the scenes for these operations. Not trying to be a conspiracy theorist, but I have heard these stories from legitimate sources (medical board members).
 
Wasn't Stan Li the creator of Spiderman? I guess he got his fingers a little too sticky with money.

I mean, what a piece of garbage. I just hope they throw him in jail for murder and throw away the keys.


This profession is slowly becoming a joke with these kinds of people. No wonder the cRNAs think they can win.
 
I disagree here. Li isn't much different than corrupt Family Practitioners or Plastic Surgeons I've come across in Medicine.

Or, Cardiologists that sell themselves as ****** to former Pop stars who like Propofol. Or, Orthopedic Surgeons who want to sedate their wives in order to have sex with them.

Every Field has their crooks and charlatans.

CRNAs are no different as some of them open Pain Clinics and try to practice Pain without a Medical Degree.

****** abound in our field, in the country and especially, Washington D.C.
 
Lower standard of proof for civil cases. Might have a shot here.
