I was curious to know more about diversity in optometry with respect to gender, race/ethnicity and lifestyle....both at school and in the field.
For those currently in school:
-Can you describe the demographics at your school or in your class?
-Has this mix increased or decreased over the years, to your knowledge?
-What types of activities or programs are there that promote multiculturalism and diversity at your school?
-What type(s) of support is there? (office? student groups?)
-What could or should be done to help increase diversity (if you feel it is necessary)?

-How diverse is the field? What is the current trend from your experience?
-How does this impact the profession?
-How has it impacted you directly, if at all?
-What could or should be done to help increase diversity (if you feel it is necessary)?
