Diversity Statement vs Personal Statement

Hey all!

I am starting fresh on my application this year and I'm stuck. I've done a lot of research on both but for some reason... I just don't feel like my diversity statement and personal statement are different from each other. I feel like I'm answering the diversity statement essay pretty on target but now I'm questioning if I have the right content in my personal statement. So which is which? My head is spinning now!!!

Focus on the personal statement.. That is what is going to matter the most. The diversity statement is more like icing... might make a little difference if you are a minority/disadvataged etc...but it is not the MEAT.

If there is some overlap, don't worry, as long as you have a strong PS IMO>
