I think it would be great to make it focused on being raised in a rural environment and sprinkling in that you're a new mom somewhere into your essay.
The way I incorporate this sprinkling technique is I might talk about an open topic. Ie. I am diverse because of my life experiences.
In doing this you can make a traditional essay structured around your life experiences that make you diverse.
This is the way I would do it but it differs on the person. If you had to choose one or the other choose living rurally. It adds more diversity to the class. Typically secondaries also have a place to add in an "anything else that you haven't discussed" where it would be appropriate to talk about being a mother. Only spin this as a positive. Some older adcoms might see this as a hindrance if you don't word it appropriately.
