Question:
I plan on finishing all my pre-med requirements at UC Davis as a Philosophy major with a 2.8-3.0 (expected).
I then plan on doing some med school-like courses at Texas or another slightly-more-difficult-than-community college-college for a few semesters (like Immunology, A&P, Neurobiology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Biostatistics) and hopefully the less rigorous work at a Texas state college will be an excellent primer, preparation and GPA-booster for SMPs. Because, from the looks of it right now, I want to be uber-prepared for Medical school. Assuming I get in, of course. Hopefully, becoming a Texas resident during my post-undergrad work will beneficial?
Does that sound like a good plan?
Another question: what is the difference between the "hard science" and "applied science" SMPs ? Which type of SMP would I apply for given the nature of these differences and the courses that I'll be taking in Texas?
