Hello all,

I graduated in May with a BS in Biology and am currently applying to medical school. My cGPA is 3.36 and my sGPA is 3.30. Solid upward trend, 4.0 senior year. I took the MCAT in May and got a 516. I am a South Asian male.

I have received 4 interviews (2 MD and 2 DO), and 2 of those have turned into waitlists (1 MD and 1 DO). Waiting on 2 decisions, but with the current pattern it is possible that all these decisions may end up being waitlist.

My ECs include leadership positions on 3 college organizations, 4 part time jobs during college, brain cancer lab research assistant, volunteer work with a nonprofit for individuals with disabilities (clinical volunteer), mentoring adults with autism (non-clinical volunteer), and around 40 shadowing hours.

I spent this semester gaining additional clinical experience as a transporter in a hospital and continuing my work mentoring adults with autism.

I am deciding how to proceed forward, both for potential WL updates in May and in case I need to reapply. I just received an offer to be a full time clinical research assistant with a company that works on rare diseases (pays more). I can take this job and take 1-2 classes next semester (costs less). Or, I can continue to stay in this current job (pays less) and take ~4 classes next semester (costs more).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
