anyone out there plan on attending DMU's podiatry program starting this year?

I'm not a pod, but I go to DMU. The pods here are for the most part pretty cool and really knowledgeable. Beware though this program is rigorous. They have about a 1/3 attrition rate.

I know it is rigorous. That is what attracted me to DMU. I feel I will be better prepared for boards.

I went to DMU (graduated May '04). It really prepared me for residency. This year ALL of the graduates in my class were accepted to multi-year surgical spots. By the time you graduate that will be standard across the country.

The only advice I can give you is something you'll hear from Dr. Mandracchia.
Read, Read, Read.

Start reading medical journals early. Always have a quote from a journal ready when presenting a case.

Also, get close to Dr. Mandracchia (you'll find out who he is) - he's nationally known, is the editor for "Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery" (a large podiatry journal) - and a wealth of knowledge and experience.
