I already got accepted to LECOM-Bradenton and I have an interview at DMU this week. I am not sure whether to cancel my interview. I loved LECOM when I visited the school for my interview...great location, PBL, rotation sites, etc. But I've also heard great things about DMU. I dont kno if I should go check the school out...I am gonna have to put my deposit down for LECOM bc i definately wont hear back from DMU by the deadline. Any thoughts/suggestions will be very helpful!

I went to my DMU interview and loved the place. The combination of great people and excellent facilities is hard to pass up. Besides, I love the midwest.

Only you can determine if you're going to prefer going to medical school in Florida or Iowa, however. As far as I'm concerned, returning to live in Florida is about as fun for me as a root canal...

Fifteen months ago I was visiting friends in Ill. the day before my DMU interview. I had already decided on UHS or VCOM. My friends said to cancel my interview and stay longer and visit. I went to Des Moines that evening, stayed 90 minutes east and drove into interview later that day. I never looked back. It was the best decision I ever made. I love the town, the people, and the DMU community.

I suggest you come for an interview just so you know you're making the right decision w/ LECOM-B. I had already decided UHS or VCOM... You never know, and if you come you'll know for sure.

Yeah, either way you really should explore options. I can say, however, that you are going to really die when you see Des Moines. They are amazing. I ended up turning it down for PCOM because of personal reasons, but I will always have a big spot in my heart for DMU. That place is amazing.
