Hey, can anyone tell me if the interview at DMU is open file? Thanks!
p.s. i got really overwhelmed because nearly everything is just top notch, so its alot to take in. I would maybe recommend taking notes on the things you like/dislike because after interviewing at other schools I found that really nowhere could compare
Funny you mentioned this because I was talking to a couple of interviewees and they seem to have become more nervous later on in the day after they have seen our great campus, facilities, and student atmosphere. They really wanted to get that acceptance.
I just got back from my interview today - I really liked the school. Too bad it's 4.5 hours from our house
It was def. open file and pretty conversational. PM me for specific questions
4.5 hours isn't bad!! At least you're not from the West Coast like some of our classmates...now that would be far
It's far enough when you're married and your spouse is back home
Hey - did you talk to the interviewees today? (Friday 9/14)?
Ahh if it were that simple.Your husband can't get a job wherever you move?
No not today, I wasnt schedualed to be a tour guide, however I was enjoying the taco salad day .
Ahh if it were that simple.
He's been working at his current job for 5 years and is moving up in the company. He also has excellent insurance, whereas I'm self-employed and have none but his. We own our house here and the market, well, sucks. Plus, I'm going to be studying a LOT so I don't think it's fair to demand him to move away from his friends and all the extracurricular things he's involved in. Besides, we've already decided that if I have to attend med school away from home, we'll be living apart. 4.5 hours is doable, but just a long-ass drive.
Now, residency is another story, and so is a job after residency.
I see, that is tough. I'm not sure exactly how far you are from Chicago but that's got to be a better option than 4.5 hours away. I can't imagine living away from my husband. I will be hoping and praying that something works out for you closer to home!
