Hey everyone! I recently interviewed at DMU and I was just wondering how long it takes to hear back from them? Is the response a phone call, an email, or through the mail? I'm starting to get anxious as I await the decision. Also, does anyone know if schools will give an extension on seat deposits? I have been accepted at OCPM and my seat deposit is due pretty soon, but I still have not made up my mind about which school to attend. If anyone has any helpful information that would be great!

It took about a week and a half for me, I interviewed on a Friday and received my email on a Monday a week and three days later. Most schools will give you a little room if you need an extension you need to call them though and talk to them, they will probably give a week or two, I know Des Moines was willing to work with me if I needed it anyways. If you contact the admissions person at the school that has given you the deadline for making a seat deposit, and tell them that you are waiting to hear back from another school so you can weigh your options, they probably will be understanding and extend the deadline by a week or so. That's what Scholl did when I was accepted and still had interviews a week or so after at another program.

Just realize that you can't just put them on hold for too long, as that is unprofessional and discourteous: they need to fill those spots and need to know if you are committed or if they should offer the spot to another student.

As far as acceptance method from DMU, I heard back by US mail within the week or next.

When was your interview date? (Mine was 3/5) I am also anxiously awaiting a response, I know the website says 1-2 weeks and they told us 1 week, I'm just a little antsy. 🙂

On a serious note, I interviewed on a monday (I think), and got a call on Friday but didn't get any paperwork until the following Tuesday or Wednesday. GL and join the facebook group if you decide on attending DMU!

Same thing for me. I got a call the same week.
