Hey guys, how's everyone?
I got an e-mail from DMU saying that i have an interview on January 27th. Is it possible to reschedule the interview at an earlier date? I know I can reschedule the interview for later, but what about sooner?
Also, how do you pronounce Des Moines? I don't want to make a full of myself at the interivew. Thanks for all the help.

Pronounced- Deh (or Duh) Moyne (ryhmes with loin).

You can tell them you would like to take an earlier interview date if someone cancels. I don't know if they have interview waiting lists, but you could give it a try. good luck, they are really nice and helpful, don't be worried about asking them for anything.

Give them a call and tell them that you'd be willing to come in sooner should someone cancel.

Duh Moin.

Absolutely, positively, not Dez Anything. 🙂

Good luck - great school with great people.

oh. i say DAY-Moin.

but i'm from jersey.

I turned down my interview with them for the 17th of Jan... you may want to contact Lisa about taking that one.

Thanks for all the help guys.
Ok so it's Deh Moin huh? See, that's weird, because Des Moines is a French name, so it should be pronounced Deh Moan. I'm lost.

i have family from des moines.. duh moin 😀 im going there this weekend for a funeral actually..

Hey, does anyone know the current interview questions and process...? I've read over the medical school interview feedback on this site, but I'm still wondering if there are more questions then those stated there.

I have an interview on Dec 16th and am as nervous as all get out. So want to get in... so want to get in.

Any advice? 😀

i got in, and it was a more stressful interview than the others. for me the student on the panel made it more difficult. the questions were mostly normal and the others were simply germane to what we'd been talking about. Be yourself and answer honestly. you'll do fine.
good luck just the same

my DMU interview was actually the most laidback. the panel was awesome and made me feel really comfortable. like everyone has stated before, know your application and be yourself. answer honestly. good luck! oh, and i did get accepted and will be flying to DMU later next week to visit the campus.

At the time of the naming, apparently the other option was "Ft. Racoon"...

I suppose it's a good thing they named it what they did; Des Moines University printed on a diploma is sure to cause far more positive vibes with patients than the "Fort Racoon College of Osteopathic Medicine". 😉
