Im a little worried I put all this time into EMT training and I get denied a job because I dont have a perfect driving record.

I got a speeding ticket ticket 3 yrs ago and involved in an accident 5 yrs ago not my fault where someone rear ended me. My printout show this.

Is this enough to deny me employment as an EMT for a BLS or CCT service? How about firefighter?

Call and ask the services you would apply to.

You should be absolutely fine. A non-fault accident shouldn't be held against you. Like Dropkick said, call the services in your area. Most/all should have set guidelines/policies which they go by in evaluating your driving record. I know that in my area nobody would give a second thought to disqualifying you for that record--not even the highly competitive fire departments. DWI/DUI will of course shoot you down, as will recent serious traffic related violations like failure to stop and render aid, or reckless driving that involves an arrest, etc.

Its really going to depend where you want to work. I've worked for 3 different ambulance companies now though, and I can say that only one of them actually made an effort to check my driving record. Chances are good that whatever company you want to work for will either be fairly lenient on the records, or wont care at all.

The company I worked for allowed you to have two speeding tickets or one at fault accident and one speeding ticket in the last three years. One more moving violation or at fault accident and you were unemployable for five years. This was becuase the insurance company wouldn't cover people with such a record. I think my company was pretty standard, maybe even on the strict side (they acutally checked our records) so you should be fine at the vast majority of places you are thinking of working at.
