Do adcoms search social networking?

Do adcoms ever take to searching you (mostly referring to Facebook/Twitter) prior to interviews? Not that there's anything shocking on my Twitter...just some sporadic vulgarity, nothing incriminating.

Yes, I believe some schools do. Just set your profile to private if you don't want them going through your stuff.

This. There's no need to change your name/deactivate, etc. Just hide/take down what you don't want to be seen or don't let it be seen in the first place.

Yes. I "cleaned up" my facebook and made such I had strict privacy settings after submitting my primary app.

Do this. Strict privacy settings aren't enough, you need to clean it up too. Same goes throughout med school and most of your professional career, so get used to it.
