Do (any) medical schools call to notify?

upstate calls to give you an interview invite
I'm worried because I left my house to run an errand yesterday, and left my cell phone at home. When I got back there was a missed call that didn't have a number ID (most likely a land line) and a "click" on my answering machine at about the same time (meaning the person/persons calling didn't want to leave a message). Would they leave a message? I'm worried...

  • Secondary requests come via email to increase the profit they make off of hopeful pre-meds.
  • Interview invites come by email, status web page, or telephone.
  • Rejections come by snail-mail only as they are too chicken to break it to you in person.
  • Acceptances come via snail-mail or telephone, mostly telephone because they like to give good news.

but would they call and not leave a message or not call back?

Lets see here --- almost always it's an adult adcom member making the calls.

So, assuming they act like an adult, they would leave a message and instruct you to call them and then tell you the news, or tell you the news on the message and then you call them to arrange an interview date.

Like I said earlier, please calm down before you have a stroke.

Do med schools ever call (and only call ) to notify about an interview or ask an applicant questions?

I got a call from umdnj-njms and rwj inviting me for interview way back in 2006.
so yes?

Mayo calls to tell you if you have a phone invite, to offer an onsite, or to offer admissions (I would love that call). I did not answer for the onsite invite so they left a message. I doubt any school would hang up. I agree with the above...calm down.
