Background: US undergrad doing a gap year in UK in master's program

Are there any MD schools that require foreign transcripts? Most resources say that AMCAS does not allow them to be entered, but some old SDN threads mention some schools requiring it for secondaries. Any information that people have about if schools ever ask/require foreign transcripts would be great.

All foreign transcripts must be translated via AMCAS to a equivalent grading system. This is an arduous process, and is often prone to a longer timeline. Reach out to AMCAS directly to clarify any direct questions you have, they are less busy this time of year and would be happy to walk you through the process step by step.

This is incorrect! AMCAS does not accept foreign transcripts or transcript evaluations processed by services such as World Education Services (WES). You should only include courses taken abroad that appear on a US or Canadian transcript. Those courses must be entered exactly like they appear on your US transcript, will typically only appear as pass/fail, and will not contribute toward the GPA calculation.

When accepted to a US MD/DO, schools do however require you to send transcripts from all post-secondary institutions you have attended directly to them, including international institutions. In those circumstances, some schools might require a WES evaluation, while other schools just want to transcripts to complete your file.
