Does having an award such as a Fullbright Scholarship, Rhodes Scholarship, etc. make a big difference when it comes to med school admission assuming you have good grades, MCAT, extracurricular, volunteer, clinical experience, research? In other words, can it make the difference between a state school and a top 10 medical school? Thoughts and experiences on this would be greatly appreciated.

It is better than not having one. It can be the little extra that gets you in the door at a top ten but how you interview brings it home - or doesn't.
But these aren't just awards, they are awards with stipulations requiring research and scholarship. That's the important point.
Awards of stipends for research etc from your school are ok but no where near as impressive as being a Rhodes Scholar.
