Does anyone know of a way for a DO in residency, or out of residency to that matter, to become an MD? If you have helpful info please share...

By buying a degree from a foreign disreputable school.

Yes there are fly by night foreign schools that will sell you a MD diploma.
I would not suggest this because 1-MDs will recognize the degree as a sham and consider you as such 2 DOs will see that you are trying to pull and will not want to associate with you either.
In addition if you advertise yourself as a "licensed MD" with such dubious credentials you may run into state disciplinary problems.

The short definitive answer is: no. You graduate with the degree of the school that awarded it to you - it doesn't matter what type of residency you do - allopathic or osteopathic. If your school grants you a DO, then those are the letters you write after your name.
