Hello everyone,

Do case reports matter, when time comes applying for Cardiology fellowship? Especially if they are in NEJM, Circulation and JACC? I happen to have all these and I want to sell them big time, but keep hearing iffy things just because of case reports.

Your input would be appreciated!

Case reports are usually lower down on the scale of importance of research; having said that, if your case reports are in NEJM, etc then that's a big plus in my opinion.

Now that you have your foot into the elite club, try to maximize on it. do some quality research, network with the big names in the field, present at national conferences. All this will help!

When it comes to applying for fellowship, your CV will definitely be crucial; but more important than that is having someone big make calls for you!
