Now that grade replacement is gone, I'm a little worried about my GPA for DO.

3.21cGPA, 3.2sGPA, 505mcat, average to decent EC, good LoR

1st year - 2.41GPA (one semester fell below <2.0 so I was automatically put on academic probation, will have to report this to AACOMAS probably too).

2nd year - 3.01GPA

3rd year - 3.25GPA

4th year - 3.68GPA

5th year/DIY post-bac (~2 quarters worth of courses) - 4.0GPA

My first 76 quarter hours (51 semester hours from 1st/2nd year) - 2.71GPA

My last 128 quarter hours (85 semester hours from 3rd/4th/partial 5th year) - 3.59GPA

My last 64 quarter hours (42 semester hours partial 4th/5th year) - 4.0GPA

Is this upward trend strong enough to makeup for the removal of grade replacement?

Should I also apply to podiatrist schools if my stats are iffy for DO?

You can probably get into DO schools. But you should retake the MCAT in the meantime just in case, if you think you can do better.

I do think your grades are good enough and it is really good that you have an upward trend. Your MCAT is also okay for D.O schools. But only retake it if you think you can do better.

Other factors you did not mention is clinical experience. Do you have any clinical experience ? Or Volunteering? Have you shadowed a D.O?

I have very similar stats and I recieved two acceptances this year.

You will be fine. Just make sure you have your personal statement read and are given feedback from a few different people. Apply early and apply broadly-- especially the newer schools. I agree, only take the MCAT if you think you can really do better (I would only do it if I'm consistently scoring 3-4 points higher on your practice exams, especially the ones from AAMC). Good Luck!

I didn't have an upward trend, but i had about the same sgpa and cgpa as you. i took the mcat twice, 505 then 510. got 4 DO interviews, one acceptance. did not go to 2 of the interviews. no grade replacement shafted me
