I was just wondering what my chances were to osteopathic medical schools, especially some of the newer ones (ACOM, KYCOM, LMU, LUCOM, WCU, WVSOM, etc.)

Stats:
cGPA/sGPA: 3.3/3.1
MCAT 23 (11 VR, 7 BS, 5 PS)
100 hrs Clinical
50 hrs shadowing DO

My AACOMAS is already verified and I have received some secondaries and was wondering if I had any chance with my current stats. I'm also considering retaking the MCAT in September or October. Would that be too late to apply this cycle and what score would I need to have a chance? Thank you!

I think you can probably wing some IIs. But a 7BS would make me reject you before I entered the interview room. Skip LUCOM.

Thank you very much for your quick response. Do you think retaking the MCAT in September/October would be too late for this cycle or would I be fine?

Your verbal indicates you have critical thinking ability! Honestly many would kill for your verbal score! So nice job there🙂 But the science scores are lacking, but with some solid content review and passages you should be able to get those up to a 10 each, and your verbal ability isn't going to go anywhere. I just think cause you already have the verbal ability (many don't) you can easily get a 30 on re-take if prep is adequate; I say this because the science sections are much more correlated with "time put in=success" than verbal. lol. I would retake if I were you. The 5 in PS almost looks like you didn't even study for physics or gen chem! You can do it!👍

@Goro I was going to ask the same thing. A 7 in BS is more lethal than a 5 in PS? Huh?

/truth. Just curious Goro. So your school would rather take a person with like a 28 (5/11/12) over someone with a 26 (9/10/7)?

Which category is which?

If your schema is PS/VR/Bio, then I'd reject the kid with the Bio7. Or is it VR/PS/Bio?

No matter what the Adcom said, our Dean would probably wait list the 26.
