Do cordovan danskos match black pants for clinic?

Hi all. I need your help since I'm a little fashion-challenged. I'm buying my first pair of danksos next week and several students have told me to get the cordovan (reddish brown) color since it will match both black and brown stuff. I can't afford more than one pair of danksos. Is this true? I always thought you were supposed to wear black shoes and socks with black slacks. I have seen other students wearing the cordovan shoes with black pants but I can't really tell if it matches. Any thoughts? I don't want to make a bad impression in clinic because I don't match. I'm a chick if it matters. Thanks!

I say wear what you want. I see tons of attendings wearing sneakers with their professional attire. I have to wear sneakers/crocs/whatever on the floors otherwise I have severe back problems for like a week. (I'm a gal.)

Brown with black might look odd though.

I started wearing my black professionals with slacks/khakis... No one cares. I think they look fine with black pants, but they do look a little weird with khakis. In fact, a patient asked me where I bought them because she liked thought they looked cool.

Maybe the Dansko clogs don't look good with anything but scrubs, but their shoes look good with dress pants.

Yeah, you can pretty much wear cordovan with anything. I think I might go get a pair of cordovan dansko's today, now that I'm thinking about it. I have brown and navy blue already. And I wear them them khakis and dress pants all the time. I got the idea from my daughter's pediatrician who wears them everyday as well. Comfort and support are important factors in choosing footwear.

Your belt has to match your shoes and the color of your belt buckle matches the color of your watch. Beyond that there's not a lot of rules other than don't look like an idiot.

Doesn't matter cuz Danskos are ugly regardless of what you're wearing with them.
