I am planning to apply to DO schools.

Is this the deadline to submit your primary AACOMAS application or secondary application? When is the secondaries deadline for most osteopathic schools?

Don't wait for the deadlines, submit your AACOMAS application the day it opens and expect to receive requests for secondaries soon thereafter. Send those in ASAP and can expect interviews in late August-Early September. You could receive offers for spots mid-late september while other people are still waiting to retake the last MCAT.

DO Schools don't play around. They know they are competing with MD schools and they want to wine and dine you while the MD Schools are still on break. They send out acceptances and require deposits to lock you in as early as possible so they are scrambling as little as possible the week before classes start. Most of them are private and have a financial necessity to ensure that all of their spots are filled in order to fulfill budgetary allocations for the coming year.
