Hi,
I have a question regarding the course work description, Do dental schools request the detail course work description (especially science)? I am looking at couple of schools in my area and their course work description, I am finding that some of the topics are not covered in their biology course work. Especially Principles of Biology II, topics like THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM, THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, THE ENDOCRINE SYSTEM,
THE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM,
THE MUSCULAR AND SKELETAL SYSTEMS etc. are not covered but the other topics like Evolution, Biological Diversity, 5 Kingdoms etc. are covered. According to the school's biology department catalog, this course (Principle of Biology II) is the second course in the sequence required to fulfill the PreDental/PreMed requirement.

Seems like the missing topics are covered in a totally different subject (which is recommended for nursing but not for PreMed/PreDental students).

I was planning to prepare for the topics not covered in course by myself (for DAT). But I just want to clarify about the Dental schools,

1. Do Dental schools check the detail course work description of the science subjects ?
2. If they do, can they fuss about the missing topics etc.?

Thanks in advance.

1. Nope
2. I seriously hope not, if they do, spit in their face 🙂

Who has the time? My guess is if they have a question about a course, they will ask for additional information. Then, it would be time to offer up such information. Otherwise, don't worry about it. More than likely, there will be no question. 😀
