In both my interviews, we (the interviewees) were told that the upper-class students with us that day were just there to give us the tour of the school and answer our questions about the school, admissions, housing, night life, etc. The students don't have a say on whether we get offers of acceptances or not, at least that's what we were told.

In my UMB interview there was a faculty and a student interviewing me and the student did have a copy of my file so a student did see my file. I'm not sure if she had a say with regard to my getting accepted or not though.

I wouldn't be surprise if people on the admissions committee causually/informally ask students what their impression of certain people during interview day were. In both my interviews the students spent more time with us than the faculty and us interviewees were more informal and at ease with them.

If they are on the admission committee yes they do. If you a total ass hole to them word gets around - which may or may not have an effect but no point in taking chances.

At UNLV, your student interviewer scores you just like your faculty interviewer. Yes, it does count here!

At Ohio State, yes they do. If they are on the admissions committee they meet with all admissions committee members and do have a say in who they would like to see in the next year's class.

At UNC 1/3 of your admissions interview score is determined by your student interview. The other 2/3 is determined by your faculty interviews. We also have students on the admissions committee as full voting committee members.

No it's not. 1/3 of your admissions score is the interview, the other 1/3 is your science DAT and the other 1/3 is your science GPA. Of the interview score, 1/3 of that 1/3 is the student interview, and the other 2/3 of the 1/3 is the faculty. ..so really it's 1/9 and 2/9 of your total admissions score if you want to get technical.

UF had a dental student at the interview...he was actually one of the tour guides for the day, and then showed up again for the interview.

I was on the panel at Tennessee. I accepted all the hot chicks.

I was only referring to the weighted percent of the interview score. Sorry I was not clear. Since you desire to be precisely technical it is actually 40% interview, 30% Science GPA, and 30% AA on the DAT. It is not equal thirds.

you're missing the 10% smart-arse allocation I left out. 👍
