do DO schools offer financial aid/scholarship incentives for applicants they want?

I'm wondering...
Has anyone here gotten a scholarship/tuition reduction/financial aid offer from a DO school that really wanted them?
I know some allo schools do this for candidates they really like.
If so, did they make you an offer with your admissions letter?
I interviewed at a school I really like, but if admitted to my state univ. I'd go there for financial reasons. Could I ask the DO school to match the state school's tuition, etc.?
Let me know if this is ever done.

Thanks!

Apparently OSU-COM does

Some schools may do this, but I can provide you a list of schools that won't:

OSU-COM

Incorrect. I got a large grant from OSU-COM based on my MCAT & grades. Three others in my class got the same grant for the same reasons. I don't know the exact #s for the other classes, but the grant is still available.

Just because you didn't get one doesn't mean they don't exist.

Hmm, that's interesting info. I wonder if it's just for instaters. As for other schools, COMP and DMU offer scholarships.

I suppose from my experience, the grants were by application after admission, and not automatically awarded PRIOR TO matriculation.

But I guess I didn't hear about the one that you recieved.

If you don't mind telling me...What was your MCAT and gpa range? Or stated another way 🙂 what scores would I need to be considered for such a grant?

thanks!

Mine was an automatic. I didn't have to apply or anything.

I was significantly above the average on both for matriculants at my school. The GPA requirement for this particular grant wasn't tough to meet, but the MCAT requirement was the clincher for those of us who got the grant.

Not just for in-staters. One of the 4 in my class is out-of-state.

Just wondering how much grant/scholarship money we are talking about...

so when do schools make these offers? are they soon after your admission, or do they wait until closer to deposit time or even post deposit time? my only experience is with comp where i received my scholarship offer before i even got my acceptance letter.

In my case, the grant offer came with my acceptance letter.

5 digits a year.

KCOM does...automatic $1000 if you make certain GPA/MCAT requirements, $3000 if you make higher requirements...i don't know about scholarships over that

i received the $1000 scholarship, I didn't quite make the GPA requirement but did make the MCAT, and I had a BA English, BS Biology....guess they just decided they liked what they saw, it was a real nice surprise with my acceptance letter

call the admissions office and i'm sure they'll tell you the cutoffs (and the staff is great), i can't remember them off the top of my head
