Hey guys,
Is it possible for DOs to do research? Or do they have to earn DO/PhD first? If it's possible, then what's the point of staying for 3 more years just to get DO/PhD degree?
Thanks

I think they all do, don't they?

If I get into medical school, I really would like to do summer research to earn some money on the side.

I have a list of 11 potential DO schools that I'm applying to and they all do research. But I'm not sure about the rest.

Just about every DO school will claim to do SOME medical research. How much and how accessible it is to students may be another story. Make sure you do some investigation into which schools actually have a good number of reserach projects going.

Oh yeah, and don't count on making the big bucks doing any research jobs. It just aint gonna happen, sorry. Most research pays crap (read: a little over minimum wage).
