Im applying allo gas, and due to the proposed changes, I now have to apply to allo internships as well (I was originally just going to soap into AOA TRI if I matched advanced). I was trying to do some research and gauge how difficult these spots are for DOs to get. I did a search but now that things are changing, all the old threads are pretty worthless.
For example:
My research for allo gas shows that with...
step 1 - 237
step 2 - 257
solid letters (including one from vice chair at allo away rotation), solid clinical grades etc...
I should apply to 70 gas programs and expect about 15 +/- 5 interviews.
Does anyone have experience with transitional or med-prelims as a DO? do i need to apply to 75 programs just to scrounge 10 interviews? Or can I keep things more local (SE) and apply to 20-30ish and get a solid return?
