Hello everyone... After some searching on here, I'm not really finding what I'm looking for (or I can't articulate into search terms what I mean)...

I'm filling out the AACOMAS app for this year and have entered all my coursework. After receiving an F in gen chem 1 my first year, I came back 10 years later and retook with an A. I've listed the original grade and the repeated course the way the AACOMAS manual asked me to. Previous to entering the original F grade, AACOMAS calculated me at a 3.6 science gpa. Once I entered the F grade and the A grade retake, I'm coming up with a 3.3 science GPA when it should be around 3.6 with the retake.

Does AACOMAS calculate the "official" one later with my retake regardless of what its telling me on my application screen? Or is the retake automatically calculated in when I fill out the app and I'm missing something here? Thank you in advance for clearing this up.

Did you mark the original F grade as R01 in the last column Classification?
Did you mark the retake A grade as L01 in the last column Classification?

Gordon is correct, if you don't classify the courses correctly, not only will it not reflect an accurate GPA, but you may have issues getting certified when it comes to verifying your transcripts. I could be wrong, but I know for certain that the first part (Gordon's point) is right on.

Yes, thank you both for the help. I did classify a few courses wrong which brought down my GPA. After referencing AACOMAS course classifications again and inputting correctly, I am back where I should be. Thanks 🙂
