Once your in dental school, do grades matter? as long as you pass the class, is there any way that lower grades can hurt you (if you just want to be a general dentist)?

not one bit, unless you want to do an GPR/AEGD afterwards- even then you don't need stellar grades for most programs. however, there is something to be said about your desire to be a good dentist if you just want to scrape by with C's. put in the effort. if it gets you an A, then great! if it gets you a C, then great!

Hup

the reason I ask is that I'll be taking some classes at a community college, for a second I wanted to take two really challenging courses together trying to emulate the amount of work (not difficulty level) of the classes in dental school, and since I'm taking these science classes to raise my science gpa, I realized that even if students in dental school take a load of hard classes in one semester, and are probably studying all the time anyway, they really don't need to worry about grades, they just need to pass...

What do you call the guy that had the lowest GPA in his med school class?

Doctor

I remember becoming a "boot" (brand new) corporal in the Marines. My Platoon Sgt. said, "You know what they say about boot corporals, don't you?"

"No sergeant," I replied.

He said, "You're still corporals!"

what are the 3 scariest things to hear in the Marines?

1. a captin saying "i have a plan"
2. a 2nd lt saying "in all my experience"
3. and a lcpl saying "watch this!"

make sure that you take the required classes at a 4-year college, not at a community college.

I think the joke goes "What do you call the guy who graduated at the bottom of his med school class?" Doctor. Remember, P=MD!

I am fond of saying that though Pacific is technically not on the Pass/Fail system, in my case it is.
