Hey guys!

So I switched to premed relatively late in the game, about a year ago. In this past year, I took the MCAT (waiting for score release), started working as a CNA, volunteer, finished my prereqs, asked for LORS (I only have 2 academic ones currently, will be getting a volunteer one, don't have a physician one...) and have been trying to get my application together. I am also in grad school for biostats rn.

Stats:
UG GPA: 3.85
Grad GPA: 4.0 (so far)
MCAT: Pending... practice scores were around a 508-510 but IK that doesn't mean much
Clinical: 240 hours as a CNA, seeking another job rn (got a scribe job but worried it'll be taken over by AI so I am still actively looking since I quit my CNA job)
Volunteer: 150 at disability home, 75 at soup kitchen, 80 at pop-up free clinics, about to begin volunteering at local free clinic
No research
Other random stuff:
Dental internship w oral surgeon (110 hours)
Non-clinical employment (1200 hours)

Not sure. IK my ECs aren't competitive. I am okay applying later in the summer to gain more experiences. Shooting for DO schools (but possibly some MD depending on my MCAT).

Why is becoming a doctor important (versus a dentist)? What is your state of residence?
