I've been shadowing a Vascular Surgeon for several months now and have observed directly over 3 dozen of his surgeries. Should I ask for a LOR from him? My only LOR right now is from my A&P professor and I want to try and get at least 2 physician letters (and most schools require at least one)

Definitely not true unless you're talking about DO schools. Of the 42 schools I'm applying to, only Medical College of Georgia and Mercer require a physician letter. Most other schools don't really take physician letters seriously unless the doctor has observed you doing stuff like volunteering/working rather than just watching surgeries. I guess it doesn't hurt to just get a LOR from him and hold onto it in case you need it, but if you do, 1 letter is enough...2 is overkill.

Physician letter is only highly recommended at MIchigan State and I'm applying to 25 schools. What is a common req is two science faculty letters. Focus on getting one more of those.

1 letter is needed😛
