Sorry. This has to go in a different forum I guess.

Hi guys,

Can I get into ANY dental school with these DAT scores?

PAT 19
QR 15
RC 18
BIO 23
GC 19
OC 18
TS 20
AA 19

My GPA is 3.0 ( 2008 )and my grad GPA is 3.1 ( 2010)
I am also a red cross volunteer and have more than 30 hours of dentist shadowing experience.
Have some research experience too.
I don't know how to improve my application anymore. Please help
Thanks

-you're DAT scores are very minimal but should do
-your GPAs are also below average (average is around 3.5)
-most applicants have many volunteering experiences, so being a red cross volunteer won't help much
-30 hours is very low, get at least 100
-research is good, but won't make up for your low scores

now if you are URM, you have a decent chance at a couple schools
if you're not, then your chances are extremely low

If you really really really really really want to get into dental school, I think all hopes are not lost and I would take another 1 to 2 years for postbac and try my best to get at least 3.5 GPA, and maybe retake DAT too. Otherwise, there are other good professions besides dentistry.

Your golden if you have a state school that like to accept in staters. I have a 2.9 GPA (3.6 past 3 semesters) and my state school told me to get a 20AA and ill be extremely competitive. As much as people on here say Gpa matters. It really doesn't. Your DAT will get you interviews and if your a good people person you should have a shot. Not a good shot. But not a bad shot.
