Hey all, I've been lurking around the forums for a while and really enjoyed the comments and the motivation that this forum gives me.
I'm just wondering if I have a chance to recover from my poor drive my freshman year. I am currently a sophomore at a community college in FL, and I'm planning to transfer to the University of Florida in the summer.
At the moment I have a 2.6 overall GPA and probably a lower science GPA. When I transfer to UF, my current GPA will be classified as third-party grades and the GPA I receive at UF will be the GPA I graduate with.
So my question is, do I have a slight chance of pursuing my dream of becoming a dentist with such poor freshman/sophomore GPA?
I realize that dental school takes a lot of hard work and dedication. I see here that people are maintaining a high GPA and score amazing results on the DAT.
I'm not posting so you guys can just tell me what I want to hear, I'm just here to receive full honest answers. I realize that I've slacked off and it's time to pick up the pace and get some good grades!!
Thank you!
