please help-do you think I have a chance to match in anesthesia-scores of 85, 87, Green Card, over 1 year usce, 2 months of anesthesia observerships and lor. have interviews at 4 programs-these are 4 year anesthesia programs whose interviews i got by way of my spouse's program contacting anesthesia.. i have cancelled my interviews at 3 year programs(i got 3) . problem is i have over 20 im interviews and have gotten a prematch offer from a good program. should i take it or do you think i have a chance at anesthesia?

Might be better to take an IM spot and try to switch after PGY-1 year. I wouldnt normally advise this, but is better than not getting a spot anywhere.

Why did you cancel your 3-year program interviews? Are you really that interested in anesthesia?

To gauge your chances, I'd need to know more info that you prob. don't have access to. Scores of your competition at these programs, hx of the match at the program, e.g. other FMGs, unfilled spots in prior years.

Your chances would be better if you interviewed at more programs, not knowing the other factors.

Established posters don't read or check the FAQ's very often...they are more for new people to read before posting. Maybe someone will see your post now that you mentioned it in this thread.
