I graduated from UCSB 2004 and major was business economics.
I'm taking all my science and pre-req course at a local community
college. my gpa in UCSB was 3.6 and my science and pre-req
gpa in community college is 4.0. i'm planning to take DAT this summer
and apply to every school in california. do i have a chance even
though I did all my science course at a community college?
assuming i'll have 18-20 DAT score

sure you have a chance... but because your prereqs are at a CC, the DAT will be even more important for you than the average person. really strive for a 20-21

You have a good chance but go for a higher DAT, 20+ then you will be more competative.

To let you know, I did every pre-req from a CC except one and got into
a CA school. But that's probably cuz I'm also dead sexy!!! 😍

I think most schools will require you to complete a certain # of prerequisite courses at a 4-year institute. Might wanna double check that first. Your GPA is fine but like everyone else has said, your DATs are gonna have to be rock solid.

UCLA's website http://uclasod.dent.ucla.edu/admissions/index.asp?id=345#requirements
says:
Limitations on accredited community college course work: only 70 semester or 105 quarter units will be accepted.

UCSF's website http://dentistry.ucsf.edu/admissions/admiss_program1.html#ad3
Completion of 139 quarter units or 93 semester units (exclusive of repeated and nontransferable courses) of college work at an accredited institution is a minimum requirement for admission to the UCSF School of Dentistry dental curriculum. A minimum of 30 quarter units or 20 semester units must be completed at an accredited four-year institution.
