just wondering where i stand as far as competitiveness. just starting my 4th year and am just recently considering rads (a little late in the game).
step1 231
grades more hp than p, but no honors
no aoa (obviously)
no research
should be able to get strong letters

i know that top-level is out of reach, but would i still be in the hunt for a solid program?

You'll be fine. I have very similar grades to yours (234, many high passes). I will be applying to rads this year. I think it will come down to the interviews. I am looking for a good community program/middle-tier university program in the southeast. I really don't care about places like Duke (I am not interested in academics). I just want to be in a place where i will be comfortable. Hope this helps. 😀
