So here are my stats
Freshman year I did poorly, i didn't care about school, partied wayy too much and had all 8ams from registering late and procrastinating everything. Embarrasing 1.9 gpa (The way i See it, this is my very first semester at college, and they will see an upward trend so its not the worst)
I recieved an F in chem 1, a D in lab, a D in pre-cal and a C in Gen Bio + lab
i did well 2nd semester.
2 year, I retook chem 1 with lab and precal again, but unfortunately had mono so I have 4 W's on my sophmore year, I took the whole year off.
Started back into my 3rd year, but attended a community college ad retook chem1 and recieved a B in lecture and lab, retook Precal with a B.(At my school you get to replace 3 grades if you retake class)
So currently I am at 33 hours(not including current) with a 2.785 gpa.
So far I have a C in GEN BIO, B in GEN CHEM, currently taking gen bio2 and probably get a B, maybe an A but very unlikely. I also have a C in gen chem2, possibly could fail or get a D. (Only 4 science classes i have taken)

My parents are dental lab technicians and I plan on getting a lot of shadowing hours this summer and with an endodontist(moms best friend) so their connections are vital to me.]

I know its still too early too tell, but Can i pull it off? I have been recieving a TON of stress the past month, and just to think that this stress might retain with me for the next 2.5 years of college haunts me.

masters.

Try transferring to a 4 year college and go for a Biology Major. You will have to do better than C's and B's and with all of them already will need close to a 4.0 the rest of the way to bring your GPA up. It can be done, your just going to have to put in the work. If that means not working and taking out loans, it must be done, but your academic performance needs to improve. You still have a good chance but you need to make a dramatic change now.

Also, shadow a general dentist as well, go to professors office hours so you can get good letters of recommendation and volunteer.

You're right. It is too early to tell. you might get straight A for the next two years and then do a two year Master's program and get a 4.0 there (and possibly get accepted)... You also might do poorly next year and then give up on dentistry. I think you will have a much more clear outlook on the situation in 1-2 years.

That being said, there have been bigger come-backs in dental history. So, to answer your question, "Yes. You have a chance."

The good news is that you are not that deep into college yet. You still have another 2.5 years to graduate and another 70-80 credits.

But the truth is, that if you continue to get C's and even B's, you will not get into dental school. You literally need all A's for the next couple years to make this happen. If you get a 4.0 for the rest of college, your GPA will be around a 3.3-3.4. If you do a great job on the DAT, 21+ you should probably get into dental school.

So buckle down and study. The only reason you are not doing well, is you aren't putting the time it takes to do well. Start studying an hour per day, per class on the material you learned, then a solid 5-6 hours before tests i can guarantee you, you will start getting A's.

Make it happen. Dig yourself out now, because the longer your get bad grades, the harder and longer the process becomes.

You can do it, without a doubt, but it will depend on whether or not you want to work for it. Honestly consider whether or not you are willing to put in the work required to bring up your grades. I started off pretty rough too, I think I had a 2.3 after my first year. After lots of hard work and a renewed focus I eventually brought it up to a 3.6 and got accepted this past cycle. You are too young and too early along to give up so soon, but make sure you're willing to do the work required.

As other have said, you certainly have a chance. But, it's time for you to start treating college like it's your job, since that's what it is. Even if you work outside of school, you need to commit to class. If people look down on your year you withdrew due to illness, then forget them. It's time to start making straight As. If you're the type with parents who can help and aren't working 30+ hrs/week in school, then there is absolutely no excuse for not pulling a 3.8+ every single semester.

Shadow a GP, not a specialist and definitely not a dental lab technician. You're only 33 credits in but you killed your prerequisite GPA. If your overwhelming stress is school-related, remember that it only gets harder in dental school. Better start studying like you would in dental school because you won't survive if you can't even handle a few undergrad courses.

There are plenty of applicants who showed hard work at the get-go and if you're competing with them, you better have something to make you a worthwhile risk. Even creme of the crop applicants are assumed risks for the school, albeit much safer risks than other applicants who continue in a downward trend similar to yours.
