freaking out with the app cycle approaching... Please be honest.

GPA; 3.65 overall, 3.7 science

DAT: (have taken twice)
19 aa, 18 ts, 21 PAT, 22 RC, nothing below 17
**dont have time for another retake nor do I want to**

- 60 cc credits

- good volunteer experiences with solid LOR's

- Great work experience..

Had to work full time all through school. Have worked in a service based job for the passed 6 years. Never had the odds in my favor. Not making excuses but I do contribute it to my low DAT score, having to bust my
ass working and taking classes with no family support whatsoever since I was 17. It is what it is though and I know I've done my best given my circumstances.

I have been working so hard towards this goal and my worst fear is applying and not getting in anywhere. Do I have a decent shot at gaining an acceptance?

My school list:
Indiana (in state)
Nova
LECOM
Midwestern (AZ/IL)
Western
Roseman
Case Western
UNLV
AT Still Missouri
PITT
VCU
Touro

Your scores look basically average. GPA may be above average. DAT might be slightly lower than average but I can't see it being low enough for it to hold you back, especially with your GPA. Assuming your LoRs look good, make sure you right a great personal statement and get everything early. I don't know if anything qualifies you as disadvantaged. Look into that, and, if you do qualify, put that on your application as well. I'm not sure how much you looked into your school list, but that may need revising if you just randomly picked some lol.
To answer your question, though, yes, you do have a legitimate shot. Good luck! I'm rooting for you 🙂

You have a legit shot. Your stats are similar to mine. I would personally make some changes to your school list, but other than that, I wouldn't worry too much

I have looked at the Ada handbook to make my list. 🙂

Thank you so much for the words of encouragement.

Which schools would you add/remove?

I think you're in.

Man I hope so!! Anxious for this cycle...

Pretty much have your same DAT scores and a lower overall GPA than you. Landed 5 interviews this cycle, 2 wait lists and 1 acceptance so far. I think you will be just fine. (Btw not sharing to brag but hopefully to show that scores and GPA are not everything!!!)

Do not apply to BU or Tufts, you have too many CC credits they will automatically reject you .

I'd remove Touro and add UNE and BU. I would also check into Tufts and add them if they don't have a CC credit limitation

Will add UNE!! Thanks!

LECOM! And thank you. I guess the only thing is I don't have any CC credits (I'm assuming that's community college credits? Correct me if I'm wrong!) all my courses were taken at a 4 year university! I don't have any proof of this, but I think my LORs and personal statement played large roles in getting my foot in the door for an interview. Good luck!!

Add NYU for sure.

Added!!

That's great! Yes community college. Luckily it goes into my PS and think it may actually end up helping me. I interview extremely well so I feel as long as I get the interview I have a good shot at acceptance

NYU is becoming competitive and are deliberately looking for higher DAT scores ( got some inside source ). Apply broadly!

The large class size and large amount of acceptances sent each year still makes it a really good addition to the list.
