Ok, so I decided late in my college career that I wanted to be a dentist. I graduated in May '10 with a Bio degree but didn't have all the pre-reqs down so I've been taking those while working full time. I'd like to apply for the 2012 cycle but I feel like I'm a bit rusty in all areas and need a major refresh before taking the DAT. After this semester I'll have all my prereq's done except for statistics, and I'm planning on just taking that online.
I'm planning on taking the Kaplan classroom prep course beginning Jan 2012 (I like having a scheduled study time since I work). I've heard that it's not the best course to take but it's the only one offered in my area so I'm also considering getting Chad's videos, DAT Destroyer and maybe some other stuff to supplement the course.
I feel like I have a long way to go before I'm completely prepared and I've been told that I need a 20-21 to be competitive at the schools that I'll be applying to. Is it reasonable to think that I can prepare, take the DAT, and leave enough time for a possible re-take while still applying early enough in the cycle to get a good chance of an interview?
