I'm an intern and taking step 3 in November (I know it's early, my program requires it).

Do I have to buy UWorld, or can I do something like master the boards or first aid? Can I get just the cases for UWorld? I've heard the format for the test is a little weird and UWorld helps to get you used to it. Just trying to save so,e money. Thanks!

The cases are absolutely required. If you didn't get them for practice and tried to take it cold, good odds you'd spend a huge proportion of your first few figuring out the God awful interface.

My advice is just buy a 30 day uworld with cases. It's really the only source anyone would need for that test.

I'm an intern who just took Step 3 recently. Definitely buy UWorld qbank and CCS cases. You would do well do purchase the UWorld Self Assessment and NBME Self Assessment, but bare minimum should at least be UW qbank and CCS cases. I read Master the Boards 1x and it was helpful, but UW is your best bet.

I didn't buy the UWorld CS cases, but bought the questions. i finished about 400 of them in two weeks. Scored an acceptable 230something. Done and got my license. LOL

Nice. The CCS cases are mostly softballs, too, which is nice. It helps to get acquainted with the interface, at least.

CCS & Qbank (30-days each) + Form 1 (2-weeks) $179.

It's worth it.
