I passed a few AP courses back in high school. They're not going to substitute any of the coursework, but they are on my transcript. My question is do I have to include this in the coursework? And if I do, how would I list it as (like what term)?

Yes you need to list them. List them in whatever quarter/semester they show up on your transcript.

I'm in the same boat, and I wasn't planning on listing them at all. After all, high school AP courses are from high school, and I didn't use them to waive any of my college credits.

Q: How do I list Advanced Placement (AP) coursework?
A: List the college/university that originally posted your Advanced Placement coursework in the Colleges Attended section. Then, in the Coursework section, enter the AP courses for which you received credit. Indicate in the "special designations" section that the courses are AP.

what if they show up on your transcript as "transfered credits" without mentioning they are from AP courses. Do you send your ap scores to AADSAS then? Do you list them on your coursework even? How would we print a transcript matching form?

I really dislike that they make you enter them if you don't want to. I have a weird scenario where I placed out of pre-cal with a math placement test out of my university, but instead of just leaving it off of my transcript, they retroactively listed pre-cal as an AP credit. Not really sure how to deal with that on AADSAS other than list it as AP even though I never took it as an AP course.

My transcript lists my AP courses really strangely. It just lists them as

ADV PLACEMENBIOL 05-03 and then lists the credits.

When I'm filling out the course on AADSAS, for the name, I'm going to write exactly what it says above, but what should I input for the course prefix and number since there really isn't one?

Thanks

That's strange. I'm not sure. Your transcript doesn't include any course numbers for them? My university just gave me the equivalent courses. That's pretty inconvenient for you. I'd probably call and ask what they wanted.

Mine does that too! but it is listed before all the semesters...so I'm not sure what "term" I should put it in? Should I put the dates as the ones I took them in? But then I wasn't an "undergraduate" then.

Help please!

i think we have the same transcript lol. I'm just going to put mine in the first term I started at my college. But I'll list the APs before my official undergrad courses. I'm going to call AADSAS tomorrow and ask them about what to do for the course number and prefix. I'll let you know what they say!

Thank you! May I ask when you're planning to submit the application? I was hoping to do it today..but I guess I will wait 'til tomorrow...

Still not sure! I am working on entering all my info in and I STILL have to finalize my list of schools I'm applying to. I want to get it in by the end of the week so I can be in the first batch. Not sure if that will be too late...

What term should I put down for those AP courses that I took in high school?
Summer? Fall? Interim?
Among Undergrad, Grad, Professional, Remedial, should I put down Undergrad??

Any help appreciated 🙂

.For anyone with transcript problem of not knowing where to list them, AASDAS representative told me to just list them under 1st semester of college on the transcript it shows up. Also, put NA for course number and I also put NG because I didn't receive a grade.

Hope this helps someone!

ahh! the answer! thanks so much.

ok so here's my thing. I took a few classes and got credit in AP stats and AP calc I. I used those to get out of my classes, but then I heard med/dental schools don't accept AP credits sometimes, so I took those 2 classes over the summer at another college. It appears on my transcript as "transfer elective" so should I still list the AP courses?

hmm, I also talked to AADSAS today and they told me to put Credit for AP courses, not NG.

For the course classification, do you use the biology, chemistry thing? Or just put non-science for everything? I know this might be a dumb question but maybe AP's are different?
Thanks!

what if your AP course(s) don't appear on your college transcripts?

I just got off the phone with them. I had an unofficial copy of my transcript where they didnt put which term or whatever I had taken my APs. my transcript has another section titled "other credits" that lists my transfers and APs

the lady on the phone said to just put all the APs in the SAME term as your first semester of undergrad [dont make a new term for the same semester]
