Do I need a printer for med school?

It depends. Your school might offer a print credit that lets you print whatever from the schools printers and then after the credit, you can put more cash into the account and print more stuff. I went ahead and bought a printer scanner because I wouldn't be on campus enough to use the credits, also the printers had a bad habit of being overloaded from everyone trying to print stuff at the last minute. I got way more use out of the scanner though. If your school has a facebook page or if there's a general way to ask your upper classman, you'll get a quick answer.

No.
I used to print notes in undergrad. But lol my school was so bad at uploading lecture slides in a timely fashion I simply gave up on ever printing them and soon gave up on even attending lecturr

Did you print a lot in undergrad? Many schools have printing services.

If your library lets you print you do not need a printer.

I rarely print anything. Ever. It will only be useful if annotating lecture powerpoints by hand works for you.

I needed a scanner for a few things (I hate using my phone as a makeshift scanner), but rarely needed a printer, and when I did there was one available at school for free.

Just reinforcing what's already been stated. I think my school gave us 250 pages for free then a certain number of dollars for every 100 pages more. Definitely worth it. Did go through a couple of big 3-ring binders though with wear and tear of daily use. Have fun though. Med school is great. Take the time to still go out on the weekends and do trivia nights or whatever it is you crazy kids do nowadays.

Just get a multipurpose printer, some of them pretty much cost the same as a printer by themselves. Being able to copy, scan, and at times fax is a life saver.

I did not buy a printer for medical school, and if I ever needed to print something (~once a week) I'd go to the school library (0.05 cents per copy ftw, first 5.00$ "free").

I got a cheap brothers laser printer for ~$70, and the included sample toner cartridge has lasted me ~5 years of occasional printing and doesn't dry out. I think it's worth the convenience of when you need to print out a form or assignment and have a hard time making it to the library. Ours has hours that are difficult to make when on clinical rotations especially, and a lot of our sites are pretty far from the campus.
