Do I need a resume or CV for this interview?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I have an interview with a doctor who I am trying to do summer research with. He told me to get together my "resume" and bring it.

Sounds like either would work -- unless your CV is actually as long as your arm, the highlights of which can't be fit into a résumé. He just wants to see what you're all about.

Generally for research a CV is always preferable to a resume. I'm rather surprised that your professor told you to bring a resume.

eh, I went with the resume because I don't have a CV and didn't feel like making one, I got the position anyways.

For most of us they're the same thing anyway...

True, I didn't know exactly what a CV was until I looked it up a few days ago. Basically there was nothing that I could add to a CV that wasn't already on my resume.

Glad it's not just me though...

The difference is if you spend 20 years in academia and have a CV thats 10++ pages long.

At that point, your resume is still max 2. But almost all of us are young enough that our CVs are still around 2 pages long.
