Hi Everyone,

I'm using Math Destroyer 2015 and just completed Test 10 (10 of 16 tests). I am very slow in math and it took me about 3 weeks to finish up to Test 10. I've only been able to do about half a test a day because it takes me about 2 hours. I have 6 more tests to go....but my questions it whether I should even take them?

Should I focus on the 10 practice tests that I already did and really dive into them 3x or keep trugging along and do the rest of the 6 Math Tests?? I feel that if continue taking the rest of the Math tests I'll be spreading myself thin. I'd rather know how to do the questions I've already been exposed to well. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks

when is your exam? i think should do the last 6 exams. i stopped looking at math destroyer about 2 -3 weeks before my exam. i just focused on bootcamp math. bootcamp has 10 qr exams and i those in the 2 weeks before my exam. Math destroyer is meant to oveprepare you and make the real dat qr feel easier. just finish math destroyer and then use bootcamp to finish your qr prep right before your exam. I felt the real dat mirrored the style and difficulty level of dat bootcamp than any other resource. Using math destroyer helped over prepare me bc it was so hard

Thanks for the advice! I still have about a month left before my DAT. How many times did you do Math Destroyer?

IF you have the time, do all of them. Any practice is good.

i just did math destroyer once though, sans the last 3-4 exams. one of them was on p values and hypothesis so i def skipped that one. its good practice but way harder than the real dat

You can do none of them 😉. Jkjk. Do a good amount but if you hate math it's not necessary to do more than a few to get exposure to all types of questions.

Sorry but I do disagree with you here, and that is rare. I do enjoy your input on this forum and I am sure it is much appreciated. If you hate Math it is more important to do ALL the work. I have received emails, phone calls, etc through the years from students that had to retake the DAT because of a low QR score.

If you are short on time I suggest you do go to the problems in the Math Destroyer that you are struggling with and do those. Don't worry about timing as much as knowing how to do the problems. There a lot of different versions of the test and if you want the best shot at getting a high QR score put in the effort.

Just my 2 cents..

Yes do them all if you want to get a high QR score. Competition is fierce and students often overlook this section and it can end in disastrous results.

Good luck on your DAT

Thanks, Nancy! Your input and advice is much appreciated. What I decided to do was hold off on 11-16 for now, review 1-10 bc I am getting simple things wrong. Then in a week or two, kill it with finishing 11-16 bc I should have a lot of practice by then. What do you think?!

Sounds like a great plan, as long as you can finish all the work, that is what counts.

Feel free to pm if you need any more advice.

take care..Nancy

Depends on how much time you have.

If you don't have much time, you obviously have to budget your time. I was only able to get through tests 1-12 (early on in my studying) and I really wish I went through the whole book (and maybe done some of the easier tests twice).

Going through tests 1-10 is a decent foundation, but if you have time definitely do them all at least once.

I see your point and understand what you're saying. I just feel that some people hate it so much that they will feel overwhelmed and not even be willing to get through most of it. For people who only want an 18/19 in math I don't think doing ALL of math destroyer is necessary. That being said, I think math is one of the better ways for people to get their AAs up so they should put in a good amount of effort

Thanks all of you guys, your input is very, very, helpful! I was feeling pretty down but I feel a lot better about continuing to tackle QR. I'm holding off on tests 11-16 for now. I'm doing review problems in sets of 3 tests i.e. all geometry from test 1,2,3 then all algebra from test 1,2,3, etc. I'm going a lot faster so that's motivating!
