quick question guys. I am sure its a pretty quick and easy answer. If i match into a osteopathic internship year does the ERAS system automatically cancel all the allopathic internships and advanced residency programs I might want to match at. What about categorical residency spots? Thanks

it will not cancel you our of positions that start as PGY2

Wow...resident. I remember when I was a pre-med and you were just starting out DO school. Like it was yesterday.

What if that osteopathic internship is LINKED?

Well, starting with the class of 2008, my understanding is that it either is a residency (with the internship combined in already) or an independent internship.

Anyways, the rule is that if you match for something in the DO match, then you're pulled from anything that overlaps in the MD match. That means that the only way you can match DO and stay in the MD match is if you match DO internship only and have MD applications that start as PGY2.
