Obviously getting an interview is better than not getting an interview. I am looking at this from the prospective of a weaker application (at least MCAT wise). The committee must have seen something they liked right? Or are they just curious about a lot of things and they want to ask/meet you in person to determine? I was just wondering...maybe it is different at different schools the level of interest an adcom has in its interviewees. I'm just surprised I got an interview!

Most of the schools I've applied to accept upwards of 40% of people they interview (assuming they can hold a conversation and the rest of their app remains great)

So yeah, at this point you are in serious consideration by the school

I recently had a conversation with a Dean at a state MD school and he told me in no uncertain terms the following:
"We don't waste our time interviewing people we wouldn't admit. By the time you are offered an interview, we have already decided you are good enough on paper to be here. We just need to make sure you're not a psycho."
That being said, an interview is ABSOLUTELY NOT a guarantee of admission. It is an opportunity to show that you are as good if not even better than your application led them to believe.
So congrats on the invite, try to relax and be yourself. Show them why they invited you.

Congratulations on your interview, and for getting one early in the cycle.
There's probably a million posts on this - interview formats vary by school, but be sure to be able to answer the following:
1) Why do you want to study medicine/be a physician?
2) Why do you want to become a DO?
3) What interests you about this school?
4) Name one personal strength and one personal weakness. Be ready to explain your weakness and what steps you are taking or have taken to deal with it.

Don't be afraid to take a pause to think out your answer before speaking. Keep your answers brief.

Finally, since you know that the weak point of your application is your MCAT, be ready to answer questions about it since it may or may not come up during the interview.

The Adcom isn't going to waste their time or yours (and your money) just to invite you out to ask about that meeting you had with President Putin or whatever.

Different schools have different missions and minimum criteria. Applicants are looked at via their whole package. Even if you had a weak packet, then you still made it over the bar of the school's minimum reqs, and you might alos have something that matches thier mission.
